Illuminating Ho.Re.Ca. spaces with borosilicate glass

In the Ho.Re.Ca. world, light is never merely functional. Restaurants, hotels, lounges, and hospitality spaces require a precise balance between atmosphere, comfort, and visual identity.

In this context, borosilicate glass represents much more than an aesthetic choice. It is a material capable of transforming light into a sophisticated design element, offering depth, transparency, and perceptual quality.

Light as an architectural element

In Ho.Re.Ca. spaces, lighting design does not respond only to functional needs. Light defines depth, visual hierarchies, and the perception of the environment, directly influencing the guest experience.

For this reason, the quality of light diffusion becomes essential. Borosilicate glass makes it possible to work with light in a precise and natural way: its transparency and lightness allow light to spread softly, creating elegant environments that are never intrusive.

From hotel lobbies to lounge areas and dining spaces, light accompanies the different moments within a space with continuity and balance.

A material that dialogues with surfaces and volumes

One of the most interesting aspects of borosilicate glass is its ability to interact with different materials and surfaces.

Wood, stone, metal, fabrics, and ceramics react to light in different ways, and glass makes it possible to enhance their textures and depth without weighing down the visual composition. This makes it particularly suitable for both contemporary environments and projects with a warmer, more decorative language.

Design flexibility for the contract sector

In the contract world, every project has specific requirements. Large scenic installations, modular compositions, decorative light points, or solutions integrated into the architecture require a high level of customization.

Cangini & Tucci lamps are created precisely to respond to this design complexity. In-house production of borosilicate glass ensures flexibility for bespoke requests and direct control over product quality, while the wide variety of glass and metal finishes makes it possible to adapt each composition to the architectural language of the space.

In addition, borosilicate glass offers particularly interesting technical characteristics for the sector: lightness, thermal resistance, and consistent perceptual quality over time. A material that combines performance and elegance. A rare combination.

Our technical department supports clients in the development of the lighting project through renderings, 3D drawings, visualizations, and configuration studies, starting directly from images of the environment to be created.

From project to realization

PIT ©

An example of this approach is the project created for Hotel Villa Cortine in Sirmione, Brescia, developed by Architect Carlo Ceresoli in collaboration with Officina Luce.

The project began with a careful analysis of the client’s needs and the characteristics of the space, with the aim of developing a lighting solution perfectly integrated into the architectural concept.

Thanks to the support of our technical department, the client was guided through every design phase with technical drawings, 3D visualizations, and configuration studies, making it possible to evaluate proportions, volumes, and the aesthetic impact of the installation from the very beginning.

For the Hotel Villa Cortine project, a simple and contemporary composition from the PIT collection was selected. For the spheres in different sizes and colors, we designed a custom installation plate with a diameter of 65 cm, together with an adaptation of the cable lengths, to ensure harmonious integration within the architectural space.

The possibility to customize glass sizes, finishes, cable lengths, installation systems, and composition configurations made it possible to transform the initial design idea into a bespoke realization with a strong identity, maintaining continuity between concept, technical development, and final result.

The culture of light according to Cangini e Tucci

For Cangini e Tucci, borosilicate glass is part of a research path that brings together craftsmanship, innovation, and design culture.

Each lamp is created to enter into a relationship with the space, not to dominate it. Light thus becomes an architectural tool capable of building atmospheres, accompanying movement, and enhancing the identity of an environment.

Today, designing light means planning the way people experience spaces. And in Ho.Re.Ca. contexts, this difference can be perceived immediately, even before reading the menu.
